[MEMORY # 45 (SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE)]
* Pact with Ratatosk.
Earned from Game 102: Build-a-bird for Kiriko.
Direct followup to the Linkite Quest memory.
Mithos heads back to the withered World Tree and flips out at Ratatosk a little bit. There is yelling and gesticulating and mutual tsunning and, yes, a little more throwing rocks at each other's heads. A conversation that is roughly along the lines of, "Seriously, who even does that? I already told you I wanted to help!" "Yeah, well, I told you you'd have to put your money where your mouth was, didn't I?" And then Mithos kind of remembering himself and thanking Ratatosk and Ratatosk being like oh god, don't go gooshy on me now, have your silly required boss battle to prove yourself and your beliefs to me.
And then they do fight! It's pretty epic, as battles go. Mithos does defeat Ratatosk. He and Ratatosk are kind of >//////< at each other afterwards because it's Mithos's first time making a pact and Ratatosk's first time being willing to make one.
Mithos probably stutters as he tries to make his vow or something. Ratatosk goes 'psssshhhh' and then they huff at each other some more and then actually make it properly. His vow to Ratatosk is a lot more personal than his vows to the other Spirits -- he swears to do everything in his power to help Ratatosk's Tree and make it lush and beautiful and healthy again.
As far as emotional impact goes, there's a lot of tsundere, and jittery happy (unsure), and triumph, and some really complicated joy-and-friendship feelings; it's a memory of beginnings and was the turnaround point in Mithos's own journey as a hero, when he finally allowed himself to think that maybe, just maybe, he had a real shot at pulling his crazy plan off and shoving the world onto the path of getting fixed up.
+ KIND OF REMEMBERS LOVING RATATOSK A LOT AT THIS POINT? GOD. It's something that comes with time and perspective, too; it's a lot easier for him to recognize the affection in the memory than it would have been for him at the time he was living the memory.
+ 500 more tsundere points for Ratatosk?!
+ 500 patience/"...♥" at tsundere types in general.
+ And then Emil and Mithos were also so much of a walking time bomb it wasn't even funny anymore. THANKS SYMPHONIA!
