SOTU?

Mithos has a lot on his plate :|a He is dealing because he is now built to deal indefinitely but it has been a very hard couple of days and he is tired and has a sort of confrontation to get to on the current IC day sometime which he is not going to enjoy one bit. On the other hand the aftermath of the Mother game -- where he sat down with Zack and Lloyd and they thought up a new way to shove at the Personae and their rules and roles -- has given him some fresh drive on that front.

At any given time Mithos is generally all right but he depends each day on being able to lean a little on his support people and/or being able to make a happy moment for himself in the form of helping someone out, so he doesn't start feeling too bogged down.

How would a confrontation between Enma and Crazylegs go.

Crazylegs would chase Enma around bodyslamming and pecking him, eventually Enma would trip and Crazylegs would go for his face and Enma would have to be saved by somebody else...

Mithos Mithos Mithos can Kiriko come sit on you sometime '-'

She's both doing well and . . . not? She's doing well in that she is still functional and able to truck on after the fact; she did succeed in her main goal that game, which was to ensure Jasper came out alive and also not create any ill-will that might lead to them becoming established targets for others in future games. She is completely okay with being ruthlessly committed to protecting Jasper in death games above all other teams, no matter how much she might get to like other teams.

She feels really bad being petty about Jasper's decisions though! She hadn't given the situation the consideration it deserved until she saw the blood in endgame and also wasn't able to physically protect Saya when Jabberwock attacked. She feels generally bad that people died, but -- it's the pettiness that is the big factor in her guilt here!

I talked briefly about her reaction of shock and emotional lockdown, and that's both a way of punishing herself for being so casual about death and a way of defending herself/not letting others see her as weak. Because she also feels pretty weak and helpless in Aather right now! :|a She won't forever, but it's a curiously vulnerable time for her. Fffortunately she is innately capable of just dealing and bottling up and moving on rather than flipping out.

The one good reaction to the trauma game is that she did make a genuine hard connection/feel genuine affection and protectiveness to Saya! It's good to see her defenses finally lowering a little to let in a fellow Jasper.

Kiriko is doing well enough! She's still a little :| :| :| over her last game, but all that's happened since is Sasuke being confusing and Cassie being adorable and wanting a vacation for her boyfriend. '^' Kiriko approves!

She hasn't been out as often, though, because I haven't had as much time :D;; oops. And I definitely want to thread with Mithos next time we can find each other, if that's okay! :3c

And now I will be completely predictable and ask for Eve first impressions.

Eve has kind of identified Erika as the other overridingly dominant force in Jasper! She doesn't actively dislike her but she is . . . mm . . . a lot less tolerant of her than of other teammates because Erika's priorities (WINNING EVERYTHING!) don't necessarily seem to align well with hers (protect Jasper, don't aggravate other teams towards Jasper so they're safer in the long term, etc.)

She is sssitting back for now and won't attempt to manage Erika's unpleasantness too actively until the time calls for it. She's not there to 'fix' Erika or anything -- in fact, she appreciates Erika's intelligence and ruthlessness, they're valuable! -- but she is willing to go pretty far to keep Jasper peaceable, which later on might involve figuring out a way to get Erika to focus vindictiveness on just her instead of the rest of the team. Hence all the baiting and passive-aggression!

tl;dr SHE LIKES ERIKA IN A MILDLY ANTAGONISTIC WAY EXCEPT WHEN ERIKA FAILS TO CONTROL HERSELF AND IT'S TO JASPER'S DETRIMENT \:D/

SHE DOESN'T... REALLY CARE ABOUT EVE MUCH RIGHT NOW. I mean she has noticed that she's pretty reasonable and competent so she isn't directly annoyed at her like she is at Saya, but she also hasn't found anything of particular note that makes her seem particularly usable, or anything that makes Erika feel like she's a threat to Erika's superiority, which is what would make Eve a real target. :'D The fact that Eve and Saya were the only ones present at the death game and they lost makes her pretty solidly Not Impressed with Eve (because she's pretty sure Saya didn't contribute anything to that). SHE'S STILL NOT REALLY ACKNOWLEDGING THAT WINNING GAMES IS NOT NECESSARILY A MATTER OF SKILL.

On the other hand she does seem kind of shut-off and unruffleable which is kind of annoying because it means she's harder to manipulate.

THINGS YOU'RE PARTICULARLY EXCITED FOR ABOUT JASPER?

Eve thinks Yuri is a cool bro with, perhaps, a lot of problems on his plate. She enjoys their interaction! Her impression of the Personae has gone increasingly downhill so she did super appreciate the way he stood up for himself in an unpleasant game -- even if she did also think it was kind of dumb :|a WOULD FLIRT WITH MORE, MIGHT OPEN UP TO A LITTLE EASIER LATER ON, MAYBE!

Mithos is . . . not particularly judgey of Yuri's life/love choices :|a They hit really close to home in places. He hhhates seeing Yuri getting constantly hurt and closing off, though his needing to deal with Vincent is a measured response against a source of violence/murder in the community that's gone unchecked rather than a personal vendetta. He is pretty determined to keep chasing Yuri and punch him as necessary because he is just a 'friends don't let friends isolate themselves' kind of guy. I think their friendship has hit the really serious veins under the lolgamemarried lolflirting banter lately, so I'm interested to see if/how they bounce back to that in coming days.

Eve really likes Oz's company! What a gentleman ♥ She appreciated him showing her around quite a bit and she does genuinely like him as far as she allows herself to like non-teammates in Aather so far. Ruby was one of the teams who died who she did feel some investment in protecting/defending, along with Sapphire; she was not happy seeing Oz get shanked.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCES that Erika doesn't actually remember yet, is that for all her ridiculous self-assurance Erika is just a game piece in canon! She works for the witch Bernkastel (my master~) and... was sort of created in her image... and has to do whatever she says or she discarded and thrown into the depths of oblivion. She's not particularly resentful about this! It's just who she is. But she has no memories of the metaworld yet and more generally she has no memories of being anything but completely in control.

Also she doesn't remember being the detective yet, which is SUPER WEIRD FOR ME REALLY. I mean obviously her first game was a murder mystery and she knows she likes solving puzzles, but that's not quite the same thing. Her role in the game they play in Umineko is literally "the detective," and there are a bunch of rules that go around that in accordance with working within the mystery genre! Obviously I am looking forward to playing with this in Aather a lot, even if it will be a while before she actually gets her detective proclamation skill back and it will be a little dicey to actually... use. She will still think of herself really solidly as the detective.

ALSO she's actually currently... substantially less antagonistic and terrible than she is in canon, if only because everything that has happened so far or that she's remembered has been relatively mild compared to the worst of canon (Where someone corrects her on a fact about a mystery!! And she has to win or she gets thrown in the depths of oblivion! And she does really terrible things.)

SAME QUESTION FOR SETH.

I think Mithos and Josh are pretty levelly positive :|a It's been a tough couple of days, they are still good friends who are worried about each other and trust each other fairly unconditionally and have a care for each other's close folks, etc. Mithos feels a little guilty having to wave away Josh's suggestions re: blowing off tension for the meantime; irrationally so since it's been a question of being tired/powercapped/HOLY SHIT THE WEATHER rather than Mithos actually not caring.

He is, interestingly, wondering whether to open up to Josh a little more frankly about stuff he's doing concerning the Personae! I don't know if he will -- some of it is pretty controversial and some concerns realizations so big he just has to sit on them for a while -- but that he's open enough with Josh on that front to consider it says a lot about the general trust levels in their relationship.

How're Josh's feels on Tiger's Eye/the past couple of games/etc?
