He starts directing you, very calmly. The way the books are arranged is apparently pretty complex; you can't quite follow what the criteria are. But you're getting through them a lot faster than Mithos was alone.

But like you said, it is still a part of Mithos. For his anger . . . I don't know why, but I feel like it is something he shouldn't apologize for. It must have been important to him, whatever it is.
