There's a moment of nothing but light and sensation. Someone's looking you over and the scrutiny prickles and burns – it's nearly a physical pain, like fine little hooks digging past your skin, into the very meat of you. I know who you are, it says, and I know what you are, and that you don't have any business here --

“But you do,” says Mithos behind you. He's a tired, steady voice in your ear, a light hand on your shoulder. “I don't know what Dream's thinking, but everyone is welcome here in my heart; just keep in mind it's a real mess right now.”

"You should visit the others . . . they'd want to see you too."

Okay. ... Is there anywhere I should go first?

He looks uncertain.

"I don't know . . . ummm . . ."

There was that other tree, so maybe that one...

"That one's for the future! This one's for the past."

Really? I thought it would be the other way around... since that one's all ghosty and this one is solid.

"This one was from a long time ago. That one's the one the grew up in its place . . . except Mithos never saw it. But he's gonna!"

Oh, I get it. Is there bad stuff over there too?

"Uh-huh..."

Then I should probably head over there. Um... is there a place where these boxes should go?

[indicates BOX O' SADNESS and BOX O' YAN]

"Ummm . . . they won't hurt anything if they're left, but they can help if you bring them to Truth."

Truth... all right, I'll keep that in mind. ... How do I get to the other tree from here, anyway?

"If you want to go to Truth, you head right and then forward! If you want to go to the other tree, you keep going right."

[nod!!]

Okay. I think I'll drop these off at Truth first, and then go to the other tree.
