There's a moment of nothing but light and sensation. Someone's looking you over and the scrutiny prickles and burns – it's nearly a physical pain, like fine little hooks digging past your skin, into the very meat of you. I know who you are, it says, and I know what you are, and that you don't have any business here --

“But you do,” says Mithos behind you. He's a tired, steady voice in your ear, a light hand on your shoulder. “I don't know what Dream's thinking, but everyone is welcome here in my heart; just keep in mind it's a real mess right now.”

Your vision clears.

You don't sound like the one who has been speaking with me. That's someone else, right?

"Sort of? But sort of not. Truth's in the back!"

I thought that this whole place was supposed to be 'truth'. . .

"If you want to say it in a really corny way . . . one is all, all is one? Something like that. I prefer 'hearts can be weird' myself."

[skritches again]

I see. Well, I am interested in meeting the person I have been speaking with, if that is alright with you.

"'Course it's all right, Pascal."

[gives one last pat and then stands]

This way?

"Into the house, and through to the back!"

[heading that way \o\]

The door opens into a little central hallway. The house is a little aged, small but comfortable, sunny and well-lit. There's two open doorways to the left that seem to lead to an herbroom and kitchen. There's another to the right, made of cedar, which is open just a crack.

And there's one door straight ahead that seems to lead out to the the back of the house; that's open a crack too.

[heading straight through to the back first]

A path leads away from the final door, into the hazy distance. Flowers and grass bloom around it in profusion as well . . . there are a lot of fandalias out here.

Mithos is standing on the path, something dark and struggling caught between his hands. He looks worried and tired, but he's standing strong. The presence, the intensity of this area, is centered in him.

He looks up at you and smiles. "Hey, Pascal."

[hesitates, then starts approaching him]

Hello. . .

He comes up the path, meeting you halfway.

[bows!!1]

My name is Syaoran, it's good to finally meet you in person. I apologize for my intrusion.

His smile's a little complicated. "Syaoran . . . it's good to see you here too. You're apologizing for helping . . ."

I still arrived uninvited.

"I like surprise visitors?"

He's telling the truth.

It sounds a little worrisome to me. . .

"A lot of people see this as invasive, it's true; poking around someone's heart. But . . . I dunno. I'm okay with being open, nowadays, if people want to come in. If you didn't at all, that's another matter."

Will things be okay here now?

"Things will be fine, given a little more time, yes."

Alright. It's true that I don't remember, but I would still like to help.

I was hoping to ask you something, if it's alright.
