BASIC RULES FOR HOW I WORK THE MANASENSE:

+ He's had it long enough to get used to it, but it is a bit of a brainsmack to get.
+ It is, literally, an extra sense he was born with and was lucky enough to unlock early. It's not empathy or telepathy! He can't get a read on people's/animal's thoughts and feelings, just what they feel like, their location, and a rough gauge of their magical/supernatural strength. I check people's permissions and will hit you up OOCly to work things out if your character has particularly interesting pings!
+ Animals and people all have unique signatures! He can sense if they have certain active 'feel' like healing, malevolence, etc. He can also distinguish someone's species if he has enough experience.
+ His field is about fifteen feet wide. He can sense distant things too, but it has to be a really large flareup of power. (ETA: FOR SKILLSWAP PURPOSES the range is ten feet since the recipient would have no Exsphere to boost it.)
+ As noted, he can feel when people's personal signatures 'shift' with skill unlocks!
+ He usually doesn't mention his ability, but he can be very bad at acting surprised when you try to sneak up on him.
+ Can't turn it off. Just...don't play Blind Man's Buff with him.
+ Can't sense Personae, or much in games except the team he's with. Unless the Personae want him to.

Oooh, question, question! Can he feel the disconnect between Ginshu's body and her soul with manasense? It's not particularly relevant; I'm just curious. :3

He can probably feel it, but he can't equate it to 'RABBIT'S SOUL IS DISCONNECTED' because he has no knowledge of what that's supposed to feel like, if that makes sense! It just registers as a particular oddity in Ginshu's mana.

. . . of course if her mana starts flowing between a wooden doll and a withered corpse someday, then, uh. Well. Yes.
