*you're back on the island of Mithos's heart, on the dirt path through the meadow. the sky's still clouded and glassy, but it's no longer storming: you've arrived in the middle of a sunshower.

the freestanding door is there in its pool. the surrounding fog has thinned to translucence -- you can see a couple of large, four-legged shapes moving in it.*

*it is indeed picked up and acknowledged. the stone is warm against your hands, and solid, and seems to be a little . . . more there in response.*

*hey . . . want to come up?*

[brotagonist]

Come up? Sure...

[antreegonist]

*nothing shifts visually, but . . . your perception does, in a way. there are definite shapes you didn't notice before, in the patterns of cracks on the column, growing clearer and clearer. a doorway with somebody standing there -- is it the Mithos in the cage, his hand lifted in greeting? or is it a different one? in a lot of ways, they're the same . . .*

[brotagonist]

[waits. . .]

[antreegonist]

*for a moment, they are the same thing. something important passes there.

and then the new one steps out of the gateway; it's Mithos as you see him every day in Aather . . .*

[brotagonist]

. . . hey.

[antreegonist]

Hey, Lloyd.

[brotagonist]

[. . . drapes on.]

[antreegonist]

*haha -- wrapping an arm around you. you can feel from him what you felt from the columns, in terms of presence.*

[brotagonist]

[gosh.]

I gotta say bye to the guy in the cage before I go anywhere.

[antreegonist]

Sure.

[brotagonist]

[undrapes and walks back to the cage, stopping a few inches back from it; holds his hand up within reach.]

[antreegonist]

*Resolution reaches out and takes both your hands; he's happy too.*

[brotagonist]

[h-haha.]

*squeeze.*

*hehhh. some of his wounds have closed right up.*

[squeezes his hands back and loosens up...]

*lets him go, then...*
