Memory 1 made him ABSURDLY DERE for all of them even though he doesn't remember a lot? Like in that memory he was like THEY ABSOLUTELY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME SO IF I DIE IT'S OKAY AS LONG AS THEY'RE SAFE. (Memory 3 had some kaorudere and memory 5 had family in it as well... so he's like well ok)

What he's slowly starting to think about them (and will likely continue to think) is that it's really weird that they don't have... any help? Or never asked anyone for help or anything even with how shitty their lot in life got? So while he will ALWAYS LIKE THEM he might start looking at them like 'wow, we made a lot of bad decisions, maybe we were not exactly a stable peer group? hey, what if we'd gone to the authorities when people started murdering us???'

Or he might not who knows

SO I HEAR MITHOS DIDN'T START GETTING THE REALLY AWFUL MEMORIES UNTIL QUITE A FEW MEMORIES IN, how would his development have changed had they come back earlier on?

He actually relates to both Beauty and Maleficent best, and his strongest relationship with a Persona is with Kiriko! Since he is her knight and all. :X

More seriously, he'd knock him in the head and get him to explain WHAT DID YOU DO, SENSEI. IS THIS YOUR DOING.

And then the connection between personae and youkai would be completed. He would never consider them as a separate being from youkai at that point. So really I don't think Natsume would do much except beat on sensei a bit (and follow it with a hug), but it WOULD completely change his general outlook on Aather as a whole.

Oh gosh I think I've gone into a few of those scenarios already, let me dig--

- if Mithos got his betrayal memory at exactly the same point he did in Aather but run away from Lloyd, he would have become a super hot mess forest hobo who only showed up to games once in a blue moon and snuck into Sterling at odd hours for food and didn't take care of himself very well. He would have wound up a lot less functional and probably uh. Ready to kill himself.

- if he got the memory of being a half-elf in a world where everyone was prejudiced against half-elves early and he didn't have anyone supporting him through it and letting him know Aather wasn't like that, he would have become all surface friendly and really incredibly unhappy/isolated/afraid underneath. His heartgame would have been a shocker. :'D

- if he got the memory of flipping out over Martel's death too early he could either have become INCREDIBLY YANDERE MURDEROUS or just completely sadbroken/dependent on his close CR to keep him functional on an everyday basis.

I didn't control what memories he got back for like the first month so any of these scenarios could actually have happened \:D/ I SURE WASN'T EXPECTING HIM TO COME OUT HEALTHY WHEN I APPED HIM!

Though what I didn't put in there is that when Kaito picked up his father's mantle and became a phantom thief, he discovered that his father was murdered by a criminal organization who was after a gem called Pandora. This gem supposedly shed tears of immortality during the passing of a certain comet, so once he discovered this gem's existence he decided he was going to find that gem and destroy it before the criminal organization could get their greedy black hands on it. The series essentially details his adventures as a phantom thief during his search for Pandora and revenge for his father's murder, and while the beginning was very slapstick, it eventually started gearing toward plot. /o/ IT'S MY FOREVER CANON ///

Uhhh CREATION GAMES like the ones where knights made the rockziles and teams made the pizzavines. Games that got started on teaching the teams some kind of skill. And WACKY MAGIC EXPLORATION GAMES. Mithos as a Persona would be a teacher/creator type as a thing :|a

I want the ageup skill back for Mithos next so he can spend a few IC days being a cranky hobo six-foot-tall adult who wears other people's clothes and can't deal with his own hair and walks into doorframes and falls down stairs.

I probably want Seth to get Crusnik back early so she can get used to having a headmonster, but idk if I want it for her first skill. I might prioritize 'being an excellent actress mcfakerface' instead.

Seth is a bit of a chameleon character; I could see her going on any team with relatively few problems (she'd also be a great knight, but I already play a knight and I want her in a position where she can isolate herself less.) 99% of her memories involve playing a role(s) and acting a part(s) so she can, to a certain extent, pick and choose what traits she wants to develop to fit into the dynamic of whichever team she winds up on. I will be happy no matter what team she ends up on, I just want a team character and variation in my lineup again |Da

WE SHOULD. I am on a general...downbender with regards to threading energy, though, which is why Mithos has been out relatively little. Unannounced slowatus etc. etc.

I have mentioned here and there that Mithos feels like a lot of his strong CR got heavily torpedoed by the torturecamps memory; this doesn't mean the relationships are destroyed (none of them were...!), but the new element is so big that existing dynamics have to bend around it by necessity and take a new shape to accommodate it, or they stop working altogether. He doesn't actually know how to deal with this other than slowly moving back towards the people who were made aware of the situation and talking to them again, naturally, but he got so burned by the whole mess that his move back towards a lot of people is much slower than it would normally be, and that includes Josh.

He was actually really angry that Josh tried to handle the situation the way he did, by trying to make what Mithos did (purposely torturing a world for thousands of years) comparable to what Josh did (accidentally destroying one city) when they weren't comparable; their conversation was a definite huge burn in that regard, especially because Mithos was in a really bad state to try and explain what he perceived as messed-up at the time. So Josh is one of the people he's hesitating on longest just because of how badly that went for him; he will drift back, though, because he also knows Josh very much meant well by it and was trying to make him feel better and Josh is still a good friend and a bro who's been going through his own crappy memories. He just...feels like he's on shifting sands right now.

Mithos as a teenager was a half-elf who traveled with his sister in a world where there was extreme racial prejudice coming from every side towards half-elves! There was actually a huge war going on that was killing his world, and he actually started out as a hero because he went on a journey and fulfilled a crazy plan to pact with all the Summon Spirits (basically Persona analogues) in the world! And then he stopped the war by gaining the power to shape reality to his wishes pretty much.

Except then humans went and assassinated his sister, his most important person -- when he was already lonely and unstable and bitter as hell from living in a world that basically offered nothing but prejudice. So he flipped out and decided to screw the entire world and all its people over just for the sake of getting his sister back. Hence horrible soul-stealing religions and systemized torturemurder camps, etc. etc.

Aather reset him to a blank slate and gave him an incredibly good support system and CR base for him to get over his issues, so while he has gotten impressive amounts of cruel ragecrazy back from his memories, he's also developed to be selfaware and morally strong enough to figure out how to deal w/ it and not go be an awful person again.

I KNOW '-' He really would do best on Emerald if he had to be on a team; he doesn't have the sense of intrusion/disconnect fromt hem that he does with other teams! A lot of Tales heroes are pretty much tailor-made for the knight role, though.

What's your favourite kind of heart to play in? Like, what kind of elements do you like to see and enjoy?

Josh...hmm, okay. Short version: he doesn't know where he stands or what he's doing re: Mithos; he still wants to be a good bro and a good friend but he's not sure how other than doing what he normally does and/or giving space when asked to. ALSO KIND OF ON SHIFTING SANDS and standing still because of it. So right now he's kind of waiting for Mithos to approach him again.

He kind of intuited that he somehow got a mouthful of foot during that conversation, but he doesn't really grok why. Trying to imagine the scale difference between what Mithos did -- which I think actually only got vaguely described in any case -- and what he did...for all the maturity he's picked up over the course of canon and in Aather, he's still fifteen, and he can't quite conceive of the sheer scale of it; it's like trying to imagine a million of something. So he tried to sharing his own experience (which he has only shared with Mithos, Ven and Mau at this point) and how he's ending up dealing with it. Obviously, that didn't work out like he hoped it would, and it's kind of left him...unsure of his instincts where Mithos is concerned.

What he's been trying to do is just...be normal around him, in a way. He wants to show Mithos that as far as he's concerned, things haven't changed between them, and that he doesn't want to be friends any less, and that's the only way he can think of to do it. Because he also has the strong impression that he can't do anything to help other than be available if he's needed; if he thinks about it, that drives him a little crazy, because Josh is someone who always needs to be doing something in a bad situation, moving forward, solving problems. But this is also a situation in which, as far as he can tell, any move he makes (or made) risks making things worse, and he knows it, and because he really likes Mithos he's trying very hard to give him whatever space he needs.

(I had to actually sit down and think about why he's felt kind of off-balance in the threads they've had since that conversation, and that's pretty much why. He knows something's wrong on Mithos's end, wants to help fix it but doesn't know how, doesn't dare push in case he makes things worse, so he kind of...spins his wheels in the sand and tries to act like/convince himself he's driving somewhere.)

Sterling and Onyx are demoted from knight teams to regular teams! (Assume they stay the same size as they are now, for whatever reason.) How does Mithos react?

Uhhh it's hard to say because I have had huge amounts of fun in every heart I have ever played in! It is really important to my having fun/being motivated that my character is directed a little into actually doing something in there -- like if the heart actually asks for help or isn't averse to it, or he is invested in the person and knows doing stuff inside their heart could help them (ie. removing the corruption from Zelos's heart, actively attempting to improve stuff in Ryner's against Alpha's wishes.)

I am also one of those people who is hugely predisposed to creating and running hearts rather than playing in them :'D I just try not to do it a lot since I only have the one character and his first game wound up somewhat more damaging to him than I expected.

How different are Aather!Kyouko and Syaoran from their canon incarnations?
